About Watsmen

Watsmen is building an engineering-led industrial group. We connect technical capability, disciplined execution and practical commercial judgement to deliver valuable industrial solutions.

Role Purpose

Develop dependable power-system analysis and engineering evidence for Watsmen’s industrial projects. Convert verified data into proportionate models, studies and recommendations clarifying operating limits, protection needs and integration risks. Keep assumptions and unresolved issues visible to reviewers while working within demonstrated competence.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assemble and validate the power-system study basis. Deliver a controlled input register covering network configuration, load profiles, equipment parameters, operating scenarios and source quality, clearly identifying provisional data and information requiring confirmation.
  • Build and maintain fit-for-purpose analytical models. Produce documented models with version history, validation checks and limitations so competent reviewers can reproduce results and understand dependencies on uncertain inputs.
  • Undertake the studies required by the assigned scope and competence, such as load flow, fault levels or protection coordination. Deliver checked reports explaining scenarios, findings, sensitivity, constraints and practical design implications.
  • Translate analysis into engineering requirements and recommendations. Prepare equipment-rating inputs, protection or operating recommendations and interface information, maintaining traceability to the study basis and escalating specialist analyses outside available competence.
  • Support supplier reviews and commissioning preparation. Provide technical-query responses, study-related acceptance criteria and test-evidence reviews; reconcile verified equipment or site data with the model and record resulting changes before final handover.
  • Maintain engineering quality and learning. Keep calculation files, review responses and technical-risk records controlled, report abnormal results promptly and contribute reusable checks that improve future power-system work without concealing model limitations.
  • Provide checked analysis, explicit assumptions and dependable review turnaround for customer offers; retain reusable study evidence and protect technical quality from sales pressure.

First 90 Days

  • By day 30: Review the first assigned power-system scope, available data and study requirements; establish an input-quality register, model plan and competence or review gaps.
  • By day 60: Produce an initial reviewable model and agreed priority study, with documented scenarios, basic validation checks and transparent assumptions requiring confirmation.
  • By day 90: Complete a checked study package, trace recommendations to equipment or operating requirements and demonstrate controlled updates following reviewer or supplier feedback. Demonstrate checked offer-support analysis with assumptions, review turnaround and reusable study evidence.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant electrical engineering degree or equivalent demonstrable formation, with evidence of applying power-system principles.
  • Practical competence in the study methods and modelling tools appropriate to the assigned scope, including interpretation and checking of results.
  • Ability to evaluate equipment and network data, recognise unreliable inputs and explain the implications of modelling assumptions and uncertainty.
  • Clear reporting, controlled calculations and willingness to seek independent review or specialist support before exceeding competence.
  • Understanding of electrical hazards and appropriate site-working boundaries; professional registration only where the actual assigned scope and jurisdiction require it.

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to industrial networks, utility interconnection or embedded generation and storage.
  • Experience reconciling study models with commissioning results or operating measurements.

Authority And Decision Boundaries

  • Prepare analyses and technical recommendations, request missing information and maintain assigned engineering records within the agreed scope.
  • No independent design acceptance, energisation permission, technical certification or signing authority is conveyed by the title; these require separate applicable authorisation.
  • Escalate unsafe conditions, unsupported assumptions and study limitations. Commercial dates cannot override appointed technical-authority decisions or competent review.

Key Interfaces

Project Engineering Manager and Systems & Requirements Engineer; Appointed electrical technical authority and competent reviewers; Equipment suppliers, utilities and specialist partners; Project-site, commissioning and operating teams.

Electrical & Energy Lead, Commercial and delivery owners on checked studies and stated assumptions.

How Success Is Evidenced

  • Traceability and validation quality of model inputs, scenarios and results.
  • Technical completeness and review closure of assigned study deliverables.
  • Timely identification of constraints, data gaps and material changes affecting recommendations.
  • Analysis quality, dependable turnaround and reuse of checked evidence; sales quotas do not override technical quality.

Activation And Delivery Readiness

Assigned work requires confirmed resources, competent delivery capacity and the applicable approvals. The role operates within its documented delegation; appointment alone does not confer contracting, spending, technical-approval or system-access authority.

Location And Travel

Istanbul, Türkiye. Site, supplier or utility visits for data confirmation and authorised test witnessing where needed; exact frequency will be discussed before appointment.

Employment And Working Arrangements

Full-time employment, with annual performance reviews. Twelve-month renewable contracts where legally appropriate, with probation and renewal terms determined under local law.

Roles are on-site by default. Hybrid or remote working requires prior approval. No relocation assistance or visa support is provided.
